A Slow Day in Isaan.

Well, I try and post interesting things everyday but some days there just isn’t much going on. Today was one of those days. I thought they were going to work on replacing a section of the restaurant roof. We bought the materials yesterday to be delivered today. But the guys decided fishing at my farm would be good today and besides, the materials didn’t get delivered until this afternoon. I did find an old LCD computer monitor in the old house (were we lived before the new one got built two years ago). I was able to set it up so we can monitor the security cameras all the time instead of having to switch inputs on the TV. It is small but will let them monitor and playback recorded video anytime. Phai seems to be doing a lot better with the medicine prescribed by the doctor yesterday and while my back is still a bit painful it is much better.

Still no new grandchild. My daughter in law didn’t like my idea of jumping up and down to shake the baby loose. I will just have to be patient.

Thailand does not have the safety regulations we have in the United States. If you don’t believe me take a look at the photos I took of the kids riding home from school and the video from the Thai news today.

The braces for the restaurant roof get painted.

This pesky bird and I have had a couple run ins when he tries to sneak up to the restaurant along the side of the house. I don’t think he likes me.

School Buses

I shot these through the truck windshield as the kids go home from school. I alway get nervous seeing this. Then this morning I saw the video below on the news. Amazingly non of these kids was badly injured.
