A Crazy day. A National Park, two bee strings and two birthdays

We drove about one and a half hours to a beautiful National Park in the "mountains". Well, compared to Florida mountains. I took lots of photographs and video but it is about 7 pm now (8 am EST) and we just got back. We left at 9:30 this morning. I am doing this blog while the family gets the birthday dinners for Fa Sai (she turned 14 today) and her mother (Ning) ready.

I will add photos when I can this evening. I can add the ones I took this morning now. I was reading my email on my iPad at my desk in the restaurant and looked up to see everyone gathered around a cart in the street. I took my iPad and walked out to find a door to door bug sales lady selling live crickets and other bugs. I grabbed a couple photos and a little video with the iPad.

While we were at the National Park I was walking through a section to view the beautiful flowers. Phai no sooner said "there are bees there" than one stung me on the leg just above my left ankle. I started hollering and jumping (it hurt) and Phai ran over. I had already made a quick exit from the area I got stung. Another Thai family came over and said their on got stung four times and they had some medicine they put on my sting and it did help. Then we got in the truck to drive to the section of the park where we could eat lunch and view the waterfalls. I was standing in the parking lot and felt something on my arm and instinctively swatted it. Well, it was a bee and he didn't appreciate it and stung me. This one left his stinger in my arm. Phai extracted the stinger and got some medicine out of the truck. This one didn't hurt as bad as the first but it still wasn't pleasant. Thank goodness I am not allergic.

If I tried to describe all the steps and rocks I climbed today you would never believe I could do it. My legs are sore and I know I am going to sleep well tonight. By the way, the waterfall was disappointing and if I had known, I wouldn't have struggled to get there. I would have taken a nap in the truck instead. I know that family appreciated that this old falang hung in there within them although both Phai and Ning were worried sick I wasn't going to make it a couple of times.

I will try and get more posted after the birthday party and if not I will do it in the morning (your tonight) so you may want to check back later.

I looked up from my desk and saw this in the street.

This is what found when I got closer.

She sells them by weight and Phai's sister is buying that bagful. Yes they are alive and yes they will get eaten.

A couple of shots taken with Phai's iPone that came in PhotoStream so I grabbed them for the blog.

Phai took this on of me. They had a bunch of these life-size Dinosaur statues. This area is famous for finding Dinosaur bones.

Phai loves flowers

I know Phai likes older men but this is ridiculous.

Phai is going to miss her granddaughter when we leave in two days.

Those are bug dinosaurs.

This is just a small sample of the steps I climbed.

This was in the middle of nowhere in the park.

Definitely some interesting scenery.
