Back "Home" in Isaan

It seems funny to be excited to leave the comfort of our nice air conditioned hotel to go back to the restaurant but that is how I felt. I told Ning she has her chicken chaser and gravel sweeper back and she laughed. We got back to Udon Thani after a pleasant one hour flight and stopped to do a little grocery shopping before the drive back to Nong Dan. Had an ice cream cone to tide us over until we could have a big bowl of Ning's soup. Also brought some fancy decorated doughnuts from Dunkin' Doughnuts and when little Fa Mai opened the box she started singing "happy birthday" because of the fancy icing looked like birthday cake to her. Got a big hug and a pat on the belly from Fa Mai and the little 2 year boy named "Pen" from across the street came running to see me.

They have started to stake out perimeter of the new house behind the restaurant. I have a felling things will happen on "Thai Time" which means it be built in a few weeks, a few months or a few years. My motto remains "Go with the flow". It is the only way I can survive here.

I have posted a photo of some beautiful wood sinks with mirrors that I saw in the store when we stopped in Udon Thani and a couple of photos of the stakes for the house.

We rode the motorbike to the market in the village and I bought some fried chicken and also some type of cooked custard for desert. I invested in some very good (I hope) mosquito repellant while in Bangkok and so far it does seem to be helping.

Those  are bathroom sinks made out of wood with mirrors on the stand above the sink.
