About 9:00 this morning our son in law came back from the farm and said the river is full. Evidently somewhere upstream they have opened a dam and released a lot of water. Phai and I jumped on a motorcycle after I grabbed my camera and we couldn't believe our eyes. The river is flowing, the lake is full, water is running over the dam, the ducks are quaking and already someone is fishing at the bottom of the dam. I no longer need to worry about the rice and my farm once again feels like a little bit of paradise like it did when I bought it. I am smiling from ear to ear. Add to that that Phai's son is back from Bangkok after riding a bus all night, the sun is shining and they are up on the beams welding more supports in place. All that before 10:00 am.
Well, it is now about 6 pm. I am glad I took these photos or I might think I had been dreaming about my river. A beautiful day today Rain threatened but never came. They have been working on the house since this morning and we are making real progress. Several new photos in the New House Photo Album. I passed up a chance to go to the rocket launches in Na Klang. I felt I should stick around while the work was being done on the house and it was too hot and sunny to sit in a field and watch rockets. Glad I stayed because I was able to help some with the dirt for the foundation and my stepson needed to make a run to purchase some supplies and I am the money supplier.
