Wow! Another day of huge progress on the house and the day isn't over.

I am so happy with the progress on the house. I can almost feel that hot shower and shaving with hot water again. We went into Na Klang today and bought an electric, on demand, hot water heater for the shower and they will come and install it tomorrow. We also bought paint. We bought a good primer which all of us working together got almost the entire exterior primed. We underestimated how much primer we needed so will pick some more up tomorrow. After the primer we put two coats of good "Four Seasons" paint (even though they only really have three seasons). Phai picked colors that you almost never see around here and the exterior really looks good and I think the interior color we picked will look great also.

Today they finished tiling our bathroom and our son in law is hooking up the water as I type this. We need that done so when they come tomorrow to put in the water heater we can test it. Now that Phai has seen all the tile down in the bathroom she really likes it. It will look even better when we put up the shower curtain, install the mirror and other accessories and paint the walls that are not covered with tile.

The electrician finished installing the ceiling fan and lights and testing everything and I am really happy with the job he did. He said when we do put in air conditioning he will be happy to install it for us. I have found it really pays to compliment these contractors. I have a feeling many falangs give them a hard time and do not thank them. They seem to go the extra mile for me and I do my best to interact with them in Thai.

It is 6:30 pm and the company doing the doors is still working. They are really doing great work and I think the interior of our house will look very modern. I was hoping to take pictures of the finished product but since they are still working and I want to get this published I will wait until tomorrow. Tomorrow they are supposed to install our awning over the front of the house. I plan on really cleaning up inside the house as soon as they finish today. The workers here do not clean up after themselves. Our beautiful new floor really needs a good washing.

So what remains to be done? Install the toilet, get all the plumbing hooked up, paint the interior walls, purchase and install baseboard trim and then move in. Much of that list should be complete tomorrow and Saturday so it is possible that we will move our bedroom furniture over this weekend. Other things to bring over will be the nice LCD big screen Phai bought the family about three years ago. That will also entail moving and reinstalling the big satellite dish. In Thailand you can buy a dish and pay a one time fee for the satellite feed. The internet already reaches the house but when the ISP comes and moves the router it will be even better. I did remove the windows and reinstall after we painted and they come out and  go back in really easy and roll like a dream.

Okay, I will hit update and go watch the workers finish up for today and then "clean house".

This crew worked hard all day. Everything is custom measured, cut and built on site.

That is Phai (closest to the camera) and our son in law painting on the primer. Yes, when I wasn't taking pictures I painted also.

The front doors are almost done when I took this.

The sun shines bright on my new Isaan home. This is the side we got painted so the awning can be installed tomorrow.

The last of the bathroom tile is installed. They actually built the water retaining barrier and tiled it.
